After so many years, I can’t believe it took them this long to finally do this sketch

People rail against Walken impersonations as hacky, and for the most part I agree. There is nothing more tiresome than a stand-up going “Ever wonder what it would sound like if Christopher Walken ordered cable TV?”

However, nothing cracks me up more than a good Christopher Walken impression (Steve Roney, I am looking at you). Walken impressions to me are like fart jokes to grade-school kids and Howard Stern fans (of which I am one), they always make me laugh.

Yes it’s a contradiction. The best way to describe the difference is when the impression attempts to up the ante (i.e. Christopher Walken ordering cable versus him reading “Good Night Moon” to a group of kids at a book fair or Walken as a waiter versus him auditioning for the role of Han Solo.) I don’t know, maybe it’s the specifics that I like. Amy Poehler’s impression was pretty bad but her lines about being afraid of ghosts killed me. I guess I like the impression when its use surprises me. Anyhoo, enjoy the sketch.
