My buddy and Phellow Philly Phlogger (see what I did there?) Dave at Comic Vs. Audience wrote a really cool piece on Bill Cosby’s recent show in New Brunswick.

Money shot:

Like Richard Pryor, often it’s him that’s the idiot. Subtle phrases and turns of the story that relied on timing, pacing and the volume of his voice. And there’s no one else that is quite as good of a storyteller.

And yes, he really did five minutes on turkey bacon.

I can remember devouring The Best of Bill Cosby, Wonderfulness, and To Russell My Brother, Whom I Slept With on LP and 8-Track when I was younger (very younger). That says something – when a 10 year-old and a 30 year old find the same thing funny. I still laugh at “Fat Albert/Buck-Buck,”one of the funniest comedy bits ever; it is just beautiful and expert story telling comedy.
